The Directorate of Education (DoE) has released a circular to provide clarification on the application of the revised age requirements for admissions at the entry-level, including nursery or preschool, in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This circular states that the updated age requirements won't apply for the 2024–2025 school year. We'll look at the minimum age requirements for nursery admissions in this article. According to NEP 2020 guidelines, children must be three years old when they are admitted to preschool and six years old when they start Class I. The Department of Education (DoE) released a circular in the preceding academic year that stipulated that children who wish to enroll in nursery or preschool, beginning with the academic year 2024–2025, must have reached the age of three on or before June 1, 2024.
